ประเภทของหนังสือรับรองถิ่นกำเนิดสินค้า
หนังสือรับรองถิ่นกำเนิดสินค้าสามารถจำแนกออกได้เป็น 2 ประเภทใหญ่ คือ หนังสือรับรองถิ่นกำเนิดสินค้าทั่วไป (Ordinary Certificate of Origin) และหนังสือรับรองถิ่นกำเนิดสินค้าแบบพิเศษ (Preferential Certificate of Origin)

2. หนังสือรับรองถิ่นกำเนิดสินค้าแบบพิเศษ (Preferential Certificate of Origin) คือ เอกสารที่ใช้เพื่อเพิ่มความสามารถในการแข่งขันได้ โดยทำให้ผู้ซื้อสามารถมีสิทธิพิเศษทางภาษีอากร ในการนำเข้าสินค้านั้นๆ ตามหลักเกณฑ์เงื่อนๆไขของแต่ละความตกลง ดังนี้
1) ฟอร์ม A (Certificate of Origin Form A) ออกให้สำหรับสินค้านำเข้าที่ได้สิทธิ์ อัตราภาษีพิเศษ ตามเงื่อนไข GSP ที่อนุญาตโดยกลุ่มประเทศ และประเทศต่างๆ อาทิ สหภาพยุโรป (EU), สวิตเซอร์แลนด์, ญี่ปุ่น, แคนาดา, นอร์เวย์ เป็นต้น
2) ฟอร์ม FTA (Certificate of Origin Form FTA) ออกให้สำหรับสินค้านำเข้าที่ได้สิทธิพิเศษทางภาษีอากรตามเงื่อนไขของข้อตกลง เขตการค้าเสรี ปัจจุบันประเทศไทยมีเขตการค้าเสรีที่มีผลบังคับใช้แล้ว 7 เขตการค้าเสรี ได้แก่ เขตการค้าเสรีอาเซียน เขตการค้าเสรีอาเซียน-จีน เขตการค้าเสรีไทย-ออสเตรเลีย เขตการค้าเสรีไทย-นิวซีแลนด์ เขตการค้าเสรีไทย-อินเดีย เขตการค้าเสรีไทย-ญี่ปุ่น และเขตการค้าเสรีอาเซียน-ญี่ปุ่น ในการนำเข้าโดยขอใช้สิทธิพิเศษทางภาษีอากรภายใต้เขตการค้าเสรี ไทย-นิวซีแลนด์ไม่ต้องนำหนังสือรับรองถิ่นกำเนิดมาแสดงแต่ให้รับรองการได้ ถิ่นกำเนิดของสินค้าในบัญชีราคาสินค้า (invoice) หรือเอกสารกำกับสินค้าอื่นใด สำหรับบางเขตการค้าเสรีหนังสือรับรองถิ่นกำเนิดสินค้าจะมีชื่อเรียกเฉพาะ ดังนี้
เขตการค้าเสรีอาเซียน หนังสือรับรองถิ่นกำเนิดสินค้า เรียกว่า ฟอร์ม ดี
เขตการค้าเสรีอาเซียน-จีน หนังสือรับรองถิ่นกำเนิดสินค้า เรียกว่า ฟอร์ม อี
เขตการค้าเสรีอาเซียน-ญี่ปุ่นหนังสือรับรองถิ่นกำเนิด สินค้า เรียกว่า ฟอร์ม เอเจ

3) ฟอร์ม GSTP (Certificate of Origin Form GSTP)ออกให้สำหรับสินค้านำเข้าที่ได้สิทธิพิเศษทางภาษีอากรตาม จาก 40 ประเทศกำลังพัฒนา อาทิ แอลจีเรีย, อาร์เจนตินา, บังกลาเทศ, โบลิเวีย, บราซิล, แคเมอรูน, ชิลี และ คิวบา เป็นต้น
4) ฟอร์ม AISP (Certificate of Origin Form FTA AISP) กัมพูชา ลาว พม่าเป็นผู้ออกฟอร์มนี้ เพื่อขอรับสิทธิพิเศษทางภาษีอากรสำหรับสินค้าที่นำเข้าประเทศไทย
