ชาวบ้านได้ขอความช่วยเหลือจาก DSI เกี่ยวกับการตรวจสอบเหมืองแร่เพราะมีการโกงโดยการนำปูนขาวมาเติมในพื้นที่ที่จะได้รับการตรวจสอบเพื่อลดความเป็นกรด จึงทำให้ผลการตรวจสอบปรากฎว่าพื้นที่นั้นๆไม่มีสารปนเปื้อน
