ฉลองสิริราชสมบัติครบ 70 ปี ธนบัตรที่ระลึกเฉลิมพระเกียรติ
ผู้ว่าการธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย (ธปท.) แถลงว่า เนื่องในโอกาสที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว เสด็จเถลิงถวัลยราชสมบัติครบ 70 ปี ธปท. ได้จัดพิมพ์ธนบัตรที่ระลึกชนิดราคา 70 บาทจำนวน 20 ล้านฉบับ เพื่อร่วมเฉลิมพระเกียรติในโอกาสดังกล่าว
ภาพด้านหน้าธนบัตร เชิญพระบรมฉายาสาทิสลักษณ์พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ในฉลองพระองค์เครื่องแบบเต็มยศจอมทัพ
ธนบัตรที่ระลึกฯ นี้ มีความกว้าง 89 มิลลิเมตร ความยาว 162 มิลลิเมตร และมีลักษณะต่อต้านการปลอมแปลง ที่สำคัญดังนี้
1. ภาพประธานด้านหน้าและด้านหลัง พิมพ์ด้วยลายพิมพ์เส้นนูน มีลักษณะคมชัด จะรู้สึกสะดุดเมื่อสัมผัสด้วยปลายนิ้วมือ
2. ตัวเลขไทย "๗๐" ที่ด้านหน้าและด้านหลังธนบัตร พิมพ์ด้วยหมึกพิมพ์พิเศษ เมื่อพลิกไปมาจะเป็นประกายระยิบระยับ
3. ตัวเลขอารบิก "70" ที่ด้านหลังธนบัตร พิมพ์ด้วยหมึกพิมพ์พิเศษสลับสีเมื่อพลิกไปมา จะเปลี่ยนจากสีทองเป็นสีเขียว
4. ภายในรูปพระครุฑพ่าห์ที่ด้านหน้าธนบัตร มีตัวเลขแฝงเป็นตัวเลขอารบิก "70" ซ่อนไว้จะมองเห็นได้เมื่อเอียงธนบัตรเข้าหาแสงสว่าง
5. ลายรัศมีและลายพื้นเบื้องหลังภาพประธานทั้งด้านหน้าและด้านหลังธนบัตร จะเปลี่ยนเป็นสีเหลืองเรืองแสง เมื่อส่องภายใต้รังสีเหนือม่วงธปท. จะนำธนบัตรที่ระลึกฯ ออกใช้ในวันที่ 9 มิถุนายน 2559 โดยจ่ายแลกพร้อมแผ่นบรรจุในราคา 100 บาท รายได้ส่วนต่างจากการจ่ายแลกธนบัตรทั้งหมดจะนำขึ้นทูลเกล้าฯ ถวาย
