ปัจจุบันคนไทยส่วนใหญ่ได้ละเลยเรื่องที่จะดูแลผู้สูงอายุ แต่คนไทยบางคนนั้นมีความเป็นห่วงผู้สูงอายุว่าจะเป็นอย่างไรจะใช้ชีวิตอย่างไรจะมีความลำบากไหม จึงอยากให้ผู้สูงอายุมีความเป็นอยู่ที่ดี มีเพื่อน มีสังคมเดียวกัน
เมื่อวันเวลาผ่านไป วิถีชีวิตความเป็นอยู่และความคิดของคนได้เปลี่ยนแปลงไป จิตสำนึกที่อยากจะดูแลคนเฒ่าคนแก่ได้หายไป ไม่คิดถึงใจเขาใจเรา ไม่คิดว่าตอนที่ยังเด็กอยู่ใครเป็นคนดูแล

นอกจากปัญหาที่กล่าวมา ยังพบปัญหาว่าคนชราที่ได้พักอาศัยที่มูลนิธิผู้สูงอายุบ้านปทุมธานีนั้นไม่มีรายได้ และลูกหลานทอดทิ้งไม่มีการมาดูแลแต่ได้มีการออกค่าใช้จ่ายให้แก่มูลนิธิผู้สูงอายุ
