โครงการนี้ใช้เทคโนโลยีด้านการสื่อสารเข้ามาช่วยแก้ปัญหาโดยการถ่ายทอดบทเรียนไปสู่นักเรียน คือ การนำสื่อประสมในด้านอุปกรณ์การสอนและเทคโนโลยีในการสื่อสารมาประยุกต์ใช้เข้าด้วยกันเพื่อกระจายองค์ความรู้สู่ประชาชนในภูมิภาคที่ห่างไกลให้มีโอกาสทางการศึกษาที่ดีขึ้น การใช้ดาวเทียมเป็นสื่อกลางในการแพร่ภาพและเสียงสามารถจัดการระบบการศึกษาทางไกลได้อย่างครอบคลุมและมีระเบียบมากขึ้น ซึ่งมีประโยชน์ในการพัฒนาการศึกษาอย่างมาก
