ในปีพ.ศ2410 ศาสนาจารย์แดเนียล แมคกิลวารี ได้เดินทางมาประกาศเผยแพร่คริสต์ศาสนาในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่
ต่อมาในปีพ.ศ2430 ได้มีการก่อสร้างโบสถ์ของคริสตจักรเป็นนสถาปัตยกรรมแบบตะวันตกแห่งแรกในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ โดยมีดร.มาเรียน เอ ชีค มิชชันนารีชาวอเมริกาเป็นผู้ออกแบบและก่อสร้าง
ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ 2505 คณะธรรมกิจคริสตจักรที่1ได้แต่งตั้งคณะกรรมการรขึ้นมาชุดหนึ่งเพื่อดำเนินการก่อตั้งโรงเรียนเพื่อรองรับเด็กเล็กมูลนิธิสภาคริสตจักรในประเทศไทย
ได้มอบหมายให้นางเสงี่ยม สิงหเนตร เป็นผู้แทนผู็รับใบอนุญาตดำเนินการขออนุญาตจากกระทรวงศึกษาธิการ จัดตั้งโรงเรียนโดยใช้ชื่อว่า"โรงเรียนเชียงใหม่คริสเตียน
