การที่ครูจะจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้เพื่อให้ผู้เรียนมีความรู้ ทักษะ กระบวนการ มีความสามารถ และมีคุณลักษณะอันพึงประสงค์ตามที่กำหนดเป็นมาตรฐานการเรียนรู้นั้น ครูต้องมีเทคนิค วิธีการ ในการจัดการเรียนรู้ที่เหมาะสม สำนักพัฒนานวัตกรรมการจัดการศึกษา สำนักงานคณะกรรมการการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน สรุปว่า ปัญหาที่ครูผู้สอนภาษาอังกฤษส่วนใหญ่ประสบในการจัดห้องเรียนมี 3 ประการ คือ การสร้างแรงจูงใจให้ผู้เรียนอยากเรียน อยากใช้ภาษาอังกฤษในห้อง การไม่สามารถจัดบรรยากาศในห้องเรียนได้ตามที่คาดหวัง เพราะวัสดุอุปกรณ์ไม่เหมาะ ไม่เพียงพอ ผู้เรียนมีระดับความรู้ต่างกัน และการแสดงบทบาทของครูในการสอนห้องเรียนเพื่อให้สามารถจัดกิจกรรมให้เหมาะสมกับ วัยของผู้เรียน เพราะมีการเน้นการสอนเนื้อหามากเกินไป
