ฉันเคยเข้าร่วมโครงการศูนย์จิตอาสาเพื่อผู้ประสบภัยช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยน้ำท่วมอำเภอบางระกำ ปี 2011 จังหวัดพิษณุโลก ซึ่งเป็นโครงการที่มีระดมนักศึกษาและเงินทุนรอบๆมหาวิทยาลัยเพื่อช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยพิบัติทางน้ำ และฟื้นฟูพื้นที่ชุมชนที่ได้รับความเสียหายจากพิบัติทางน้ำร่วมไปถึงการพูดจาพบปะประชาชนเพื่อให้กำลังหลังพิบัติทางน้ำ สิ่งที่ฉันได้เข้าร่วมโครงการทำให้เห็นระบบการจัดการที่ยังไม่ดีพอต่อการรับมือทางภัยพิบัติ บ้านบ้างหลังน้ำท่วมมิดหลังคาบ้านไม่มีที่พักอาศัย ไม่มีอาหารและน้ำดื่ม การเผชิญภัยพิบัติทางธรรมชาติเป็นสิ่งที่หลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้ น้ำท่วมครั้งนี้ควบคุมพื้นที่ไปทั่วอำเภอและหนักกว่าปีที่ผ่านมา ทำให้หลังเผชิญภัยพิบัติความเสียหายทั้งบ้าน ขาดรายได้ ทำให้การที่ฉันได้เป็นจิตอาสาเข้าไปให้กำลังและมอบสิ่งของที่ได้รับจากการบริจาคสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความช่วยเหลือของมนุษย์ในยามที่เดือดร้อน สิ่งที่ฉันได้มันมากกว่าประสบการณ์ทีไ่ด้รับ รวมไปถึงการฟื้นฟูโรงเรียนที่เสียหายหลังจากน้ำท่วม สิ่งสำคัญที่สุดสำหรับการเข้าร่วมเป็นจิตอาสาครั้งนี้ คือน้ำตาความภูมิใจที่ได้ข่วยเหลือคนอื่นยามที่ขาดคนพึ่งพา ถึงฉันจะเป็นนักศึกษาแต่ไม่ได้หมายความว่าเราจะไม่สามารถช่วยเหลือผู้อื่นไม่ได้ เราควรใช้คำพูดหรือการให้กำลังใจแก่บุคคลอื่นเพราะนั่นคือสิ่งที่สำคัญที่สุดในการดำเนินชีวิตต่อไป
