ในเดือนธันวาคมถึงกุมภาพันธ์ดอกนางพญาเสือโคร่ง ซึ่งเป็นซากุระพันธุ์ที่เล็กที่สุด สีชมพูอมขาวจะบานสะพรั่งตลอดแนวทางขึ้นดอยแม่สลอง เป็นพันธุ์ไม้ที่หาชมได้ยากในเมืองไทย เพราะเจริญเติบโตอยู่แต่เฉพาะในภูมิอากาศหนาวจัดเท่านั้น
