"นิค" เป็นคนมองโลกในแง่ดี เขาคิดเสมอว่า ความบกพร่องทางร่างกายของเขา คือการทดลองที่พระเจ้ามอบให้ แม้ว่าคนในครอบครัวของเขาต่างเสียใจที่ "นิค" เกิดมาด้วยสภาพนี้ แต่ "นิค" กลับทำให้ทุกคนได้เห็นว่า เขาเป็นเหมือนคนปกติ มีร่างกายแข็งแรง เพียงแต่ไม่มีแขนและขาเท่านั้น
