ช่างภาพ หรือ ช่างถ่ายภาพ คือบุคคลที่มีความชำนาญในการถ่ายภาพโดยใช้กล้องอาจจัดได้ว่าเป็นศิลปิน เนื่องจากช่างภาพสามารถจัดวางองค์ประกอบ (composition) ที่จะปรากฏในรูปภาพก่อนลงมือถ่าย คล้ายกับวิธีของศิลปินวาดภาพทั่วไป แต่เป็นศิลปินที่วาดภาพด้วยแสง หรืออาจจะจัดเป็นเพียงแค่ช่างผู้มีความชำนาญเท่านั้น
