The constructed Wetland (CW) in Gradig ~ E (Slovenia) has been in the 1,991th since Operation for the
Waters Purification of waste from a Food Processing Plant. It functions according to the method of
horizontal subsurface flow. Waste waters are composed of industrial, faecal and meteor waters. The CW
is composed of Two beds, Filled with substrate and planted with Phragmites australis and Carex gracilis.
Average Hydraulic loading of the CW is 5 M 3 DK A High COD VALUE average of 3674 mg and a 1-T BOD5
average of Le Val ~. 962 mg 1-t are characteristic of influent waters. Analysis Showed that Pollution Decreased
by 92% with Regard to COD, BOD5 89%, 96% orthophosphate, ammonium nitrate 86% and 65%. The
microbiological Parameters Number of coliform bacteria indicated that the total is reduced by 99% and
the Number of faecal streptococci by 98%. Results demonstrated that the CW Can be appropriate for
treating waste Waters from the Food Processing Plants.
