ด้านตลาดรถยนต์รวมในประเทศไทยปี 2556 มียอดการจำหน่ายรวม 1.330,668 คัน ลดลงร้อยละ 7.36 เมื่อเทียบกับปี 2555 ที่มียอดจำหน่ายรวม 1,436,335 คัน ซึ่งเป็นผลสืบเนื่องจากโครงการรถคันแรกทำให้ยอดขายรถยนต์สูงเกินจริงเพราะมีแรงกระตุ้นกำลังซื้อล่วงหน้า เมื่อจบโครงการยอดขายรถยนต์ก็จะกลับเข้าสู่ภาวะปกติ สำหรับแนวโน้มตลาดสินเชื่อเช่าซื้อรถยนต์ปี 2557 คาดว่าจะเติบโตลดลง 7% จากมูลค่าตลาดรวม 6.6 แสนล้านบาท จำนวนนี้เป็นตลาดสินเชื่อรถใหม่ประมาณ 4.5 แสนล้านบาทเติบโตลดลง 9% สินเชื่อรถยนต์มือสอง/รีไฟแนนซ์ 1.5 แสนล้านบาทเติบโตลดลง 2% และสินเชื่อรถจักรยานยนต์ 6 หมื่นล้านบาทเติบโตในอัตราลดลง 2% ทั้งนี้ ขึ้นอยู่กับปัจจัยการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจและภาวะทางการเมืองในปัจจุบัน ซึ่งมีส่วนกำหนดความเชื่อมั่นและการใช้จ่ายของผู้บริโภค
