ภาคเอกชนผนึกกำลังงดแจกถุงพลาสติกในช่วงวันที่ 3 ก.ค. 2562 ที่ผ่านมา เป็นวันปลอดถุงพลาสติกสากล (International Plastic Bag Free Day) ถูกกำหนดโดยองค์กร Plastic Bag Free World Organization เพื่อเป้าหมายลดขยะพลาสติก หลายหน่วยงานทั้งภาครัฐและเอกชนรวมถึงห้างดังต่างรณรงค์งดใช้ถุงพลาสติกต่างๆ และออกแคมเปญลดใช้ถุงพลาสติก
