ด้วยจังหวัดสงขลาร่วมกับสมาคมวอลเลย์บอลแห่งประเทศไทย กำหนดจัดการแข่งขั้นวอลเลย์บอลชายหาด สมิหลา-ช้าง เอเชี่ยนชีช วอลเลย์บอลทัวร์ ครั้งที่ 16 ระหว่างวันที่ 14-16 เมษายน 2558 ณ หาดสมิหลา อำเภอมืองสงขลา โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเผยแพร่ประชาสัมพันธ์แหล่งท่องเที่ยวจังหวัดสงขลาเพิ่มมากขึ้น พร้อมทั้งกระตุ้นให้เยาวชนและประชาชนสนใจเล่นกีฬา รวมทั้งสร้างความร่วมมือผนึกกำลังระหว่างภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน
