สหรัฐอเมริกาได้ลงมติรับรองข้อตกลงนิวเคลียร์กับอิหร่าน และให้เวลาอิหร่านถึงวันที่ 15 ธ.ค.58 ในการจำกัดโครงการนิวเคลียร์ เพื่อแลกกับการยกเลิกมาตรการคว่ำบาตรทางเศรษฐกิจและการเงินต่ออิหร่านจากนานาชาติ รวมทั้งการยกเลิกการอายัดทรัพย์ของอิหร่านในต่างประเทศ ซึ่งมีมูลค่ามากกว่า 1 แสนล้านเหรียญสหรัฐฯ และการถอนรายชื่อบุคคลและนิติบุคคลออกจากบัญชีรายชื่อผู้ถูกคว่ำบาตรโดยทันที
