เศรษฐกิจสิงคโปร์เติบโตเป็นอย่างมากโดยมีอัตราการเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจสูงถึงร้อยละ 14.6-15.5 ทั้งนี้ สิงคโปร์ไม่ได้รับผลกระทบจากปัญหาของภูมิภาคยุโรปและตั้งเป้าว่าตลอดปี 2553 อัตราการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจอาจจะสูงถึงร้อยละ 7-9 เนื่องจากนานาประเทศต่างให้ความสำคัญกับภูมิภาคเอเชียและได้รับปัจจัยบวกจากการฟื้นตัวทางเศรษฐกิจของสหรัฐฯ
