จุดมุ่งหมายในการทำวิจัยครั้งนี้ เพื่อหาแนวทางบริหารจัดการและแก้ไขปัญหาขยะที่เกิดขึ้นใน ต.ท่าสุด อ.เมือง จ.เชียงราย จากการศึกษาพบว่า ปัญหาขยะที่เกิดขึ้นในชุมชนคือ ปริมาณขยะมีมากเกินกว่าระบบการจัดการขยะจะรองรับได้ทำให้พื้นที่ในการจัดเก็บและการบริหารเตาเผาขยะไม่เพียงพอต่อการทิ้งขยะของประชน ซึ่งงานวิจัยนี้จะทำให้เกิดประโยชน์ต่อชุมชนในด้านการบริหารจัดการขยะปัญหาขยะและสามารถนำไปพัฒนาขีดความสามารถขององค์กรท้องถิ่นในการบริหารจัดการขยะได้
