งานประเพณีกำฟ้า เป็นงานบุญพื้นบ้านอีกอย่างหนึ่งของลาวพวนบ้านป่าแดง อำเภอตะพานหิน ที่ยึดถือปฏิบัติสืบต่อกันมาตั้งแต่บรรพบุรุษ เป็นการบูชาหรือเคารพเทวดาฟ้าดิน เชื่อกันว่าเมื่อได้ทำบุญประกอบพิธีกรรมตั้งบายศรีบูชาขอพรจากเทพยดาผู้รักษาฟ้าแล้วจะทำให้ฝนตกต้องตามฤดูกาล เชื่อกันว่าเสียงฟ้าร้องคือ “สัญญาณฟ้าเปิดประตูน้ำ” เพื่อให้ชาวนา ชาวไร่ มีน้ำประกอบอาชีพเกษตรกรรม การพยากรณ์เสียงฟ้าร้องของลาวพวนมีดังนี้
