We have had some sad news this week, I received earlier the note as follows:

Dear Colleagues,

On Monday March 9, Lukasz Bak, Product Manager in the Marketing Department of RW-PL was involved in a fatal road traffic accident. Our first thoughts are with his family who have received support from the local management.

This is obviously a very sad announcement, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of one of our own at this very difficult time. Often in sales, it's easy to forget the dangerous situations we may find ourselves in, because it is part of our normal family lives. I ask you to think about the situations you often find yourself in and to try to take care to ensure you do not put you or others at further risk. We do not expect you to compromise in any way on your personal safety for the sake of the company. Be careful driving, don't allow taxi drivers to speed, if you are late then use your mobile to call your client and apologise and explain. They may not understand, but we do.
I do not know the circumstances in the above tragic situation, but let's take this as a prompt to remind ourselves of the potential dangers of our daily lives and let's do all we can to avoid this.

One further area of concern for me is our safety when we go on site visits, I have good recent examples of when the safety at our client sites is not up to what I expect. I would like to implement some guidelines for us in terms of practices and safety equipment and will ask the company to work with us on this and to give us the danger signs and points in which we should be happy or not happy entering construction sites, one point now is that we can never be certain what safety equipment we get, so as a minimum I expect your management to ensure we have safety equipment of our own, such as helmet, shoes and high viz vests which we should carry with us on site visits.
