Effect of La loading on catalytic activity In comparison with the La-free CuO-ZnO-Al,O HZSM-5, DME synthesis via CO, hydrogenation was tested over La-modified bifunctional catalysts. The major product was DME, and the side products included methanol, CO and trace hydrocarbons (methane, ethane, ethylene and ect.). The conversion of CO, and the selec- tivity of DME, methanol and CO are shown in Table 4. It was found that the performance of bifunctional catalysts was affected by La. With the addition of La, the conver- sion of CO, increased from 11.7% to 25.1% 43.8% and a maximum of 43.8% was observed over the sample of 2 wt.% La. But further La addition leaded to a decrease in CO2 eonversion. However, compared with the La-free CuO-ZnO-Al;0/HZSM-5, the conversion of CO, on modified catalysts increased at least 13.4%. On the other hand, the selectivity of DME had the same trend and the highest selectivity of DME was also obtained over the 2 wt.% La modified catalyst.
