ในยุคสมัยที่การท่องเที่ยวมีบทบาทสำคัญกับเศษฐกิจของทุกๆประเทศ ทำให้หลายๆประเทศหันมาสนใจกับการนำนักท่องเที่ยวเข้าประเทศมากขึ้นและผลกระทบต่างๆส่งผลให้สถานที่ท่องเที่ยวเริ่มเสื่อมสภาพ
ในทุกประเทศก็จะมีสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวยอดนิยมของประเทศนั้นๆทำให้ดึงดูดนักท่องเที่ยวทั่วโลกทั้งวัฒนธรรม ชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ แต่ก็จะมีนายทุนบางกลุ่มที่มาเอาผลประโยชน์ของการท่องเที่ยวให้แก่ตัวเองโดยไม่สนใจที่จะรักษาสถานที่ของประเทศนั้น ขอยกตัวอย่างคือประเทศไทย
ในหลายๆจังหวัดมีสถานที่สำคัญของจังหวัดนั้นๆ เริ่มนำนักท่องเที่ยวมามากขึ้นแต่เงินที่ได้จากการท่องเที่ยวไม่มีการมาบำรุงรักษาให้คงสภาพเดิมจนทำให้สถานที่ท่องเที่ยวนั้นเสื่อมสภาพ เช่น ชายหาดต่างๆ เกาะในภาคใต้ วัดที่เก่าแก่ และนำนายทุนจากประเทศอื่นมาขายสินค้าของประเทศตนเองให้กับนักท่องเที่ยวของตนเองและเงินที่ได้ก็ไม่ได้เข้าประเทศของเราแต่ไปเข้าไปเทศของนายทุนเอง และการเข้าประเทศนั้นไม่มีการคัดสรรนักท่องเที่ยว
