10.1 มีข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับสถานภาพการพัฒนาการท่องเที่ยวของประเทศที่ผ่านมาและประเทศคู่แข่งที่สำคัญ และผลกระทบของสภาพแวดล้อมและบริบทที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปที่คาดว่าจะกระทบต่อการท่องเที่ยวของไทยในระยะกลาง (5 ปี) และ (10 ปี) รวมทั้งมีข้อมูลประกอบการจัดทำและเสนอนโยบาย ยุทธศาสตร์หรือมาตรการส่งเสริมการบริหารและพัฒนาการท่องเที่ยวของประเทศในระยะต่อไป
10.๒ สำนักงานปลัดกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬาในฐานะฝ่ายเลขานุการคณะกรรมการนโยบายการท่องเที่ยวแห่งชาติ ใช้เป็นกรอบทิศทาง/แนวทางการขับเคลื่อนแผนพัฒนาการท่องเที่ยวแห่งชาติ ฉบับที่ 2 (พ.ศ. 2560 – 2564) ไปสู่การปฏิบัติ
