เพื่อเสริมสร้างความรู้ ความเข้าใจด้านปิโตรเลียมที่ถูกต้องเกี่ยวกับการผลิตน้ำมันดิบของแหล่งสงขลา และเพื่อให้เกิดความร่วมมือระหว่างหน่วยงานในการดำเนินการ ซึ่งคณะข้าราชการตามหลักสูตรผู้บริหารระดับสูง จะได้สัมผัสการทำงานในการผลิตปิโตรเลียมด้วยตนเอง ณ บริเวณแท่นขุดเจาะกลางทะเลอ่าวไทย โดยกรมเชื้อเพลิงธรรมชาติ มีนโยบาย และมาตรการในการกำกับดูแลการสำรวมและผลิตปิโตรเลียมอย่างเคร่งครัด มีเจ้าหน้าที่เข้าร่วมตรวจสอบ และควบคุมแท่นผลิตปิโตรเลียมสงขลาเป็นประจำทุกปี จึงมั่นใจในมาตรการการรักษาความปลอดภัยในการขุดเจาะน้ำมัน รวมถึงสภาพแวดล้อมบริเวณแท่นผลิต ว่าอยู่ในเกณฑ์มาตรฐานของกฎกระทรวงฯ และยืนยันจากการตรวจสอบทางบริษัทมีระบบรักษาความปลอดภัย และสิ่งแวดล้อมดีมาก ไม่เคยเกิดการรั่วไหลของการผลิตน้ำมันดิบเลย
