การที่เรารู้บางสิ่งบางอย่างไม่ว่าจากคำบอกเล่าหรือการที่เราไปพบเจอมา อาจไม่ใช่ความจริงหรืออาจไม่ได้เป็นไปตามสิ่งที่เราได้ยินหรือเห็น ดังนั้นเราจึงต้องไตร่ตรอง ทำความเข้าใจ ในสิ่งนั้นอย่างถ่องแท้ ด้วยการใช้เหตุผล เพราะการที่เรารู้เรื่องนี้ทั้งๆที่เราคิดว่าเรารู้ดีที่สุดแล้ว อาจจะไม่ได้เป็นอย่างนั้นเสมอไป แม้กระทั่งตัวเราเอง เช่นเดียวกันกับการศึกษา ที่เราต้องสนใจในการเรียนรู้สิ่งใหม่และไม่ทิ้งความรู้เก่า เพื่อนำความรู้ไปใช้ในทางที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อตัวเองและสังคม
