ผู้สูงอายุ เป็นวัยซึ่งมีความแตกต่างจากวัยอื่น เป็นวัยบั้นปลายของชีวิต ปัจจุบันจำนวนผู้สูงอายุเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง ซึ่งรัฐบาลไทย และทั่วโลกได้ตระหนักถึงความสำคัญในเรื่องนี้ จึงมีการรณรงค์อย่างต่อเนื่อง ให้ทุกคนตระหนัก เข้าใจ และพร้อมดูแลผู้สูงอายุให้ทัดเทียมเช่นเดียวกับการดูแลประชากรในกลุ่มอายุอื่น
