ด้วยจังหวัดสงขลาร่วมกับสมาคมวอลเลย์บองแห่งประเทศไทย กำหนดจัการแข่งขันวอลเลย์บอลชายหาด สมิหลา-ช้าง เอเชี่ยนบีช วอลเลย์บอลทัวร์ ครั้งที่ 16 ระหว่างวันที่ 14-16 เมษายน 2558 ณ หาดสมิหลา อำเภอเมืองสงขลา โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเผยแพร่ประชาสัมพันธ์แหล่งท่องเที่ยวจังหวัดสงขลาเพิ่มมากขึ้น พร้อมทั้งกระตุ้นให้เยาวชนและประชาชนสนในเล่นกีฬา รวมทั้งสร้างความร่วมมือผนึกกำลังระหว่างภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน
