​การให้บริการด้านสาธารณสุขในไทย พบว่า มีความเหลื่อมล้ำกันมาก ซึ่งมีสาเหตุ​มาจากความแตกต่างด้านรายได้ กล่าวคือ ผู้มีรายได้น้อยมีโอกาสที่จะเสียชีวิตจากโรคภัยไข้เจ็บสูงกว่าผู้มีรายได้สูง และไม่ได้รับสิทธิประโยชน์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการรักษาดูแลสุขภาพที่ดีมากพอ​ ทั้งที่ทุกคนเป็นคนไทยเหมือนกัน
